Billing and Insurance Policies
BHPS is an out-of-network provider for all PPO health insurance plans. When a surgery is planned, we will obtain all authorizations from your insurance carrier for the surgery and any necessary hospital stay. Payments for professional services are due at the time of office consultation and 5 business days prior to the date of surgery. You will be financially responsible for all professional services provided.
We will provide full assistance with documentation and itemized statement for your records. If you wish, we can bill your insurance carrier directly for your reimbursement. The amount of your reimbursement will be determined based on your specific insurance coverage taking consideration of several factors:
- Professional services coverage under your health insurance plan.
- Co-payment amount.
- Deductible amount remaining for this calendar year.
- Insurance coverage percentage vs. patient responsibility percentage.
- Insurance carrier’s customary and reasonable rates for the professional services.
We will help you determine these factors and provide an estimate of your financial responsibility. In addition, we will work closely with you and your insurance carrier to provide a clear explanation of your insurance benefits and financial responsibilities for the surgical services provided.
